To Kill
Life is equal to death since death brings new life from its decay and nourishment into the soil. Tend a garden and you will witness this fact. This is a cycle of nature and was recognized as such by peoples all over, though less so in recent times. We now have removed from our view the openness of this medieval rumor through the cleansing of death and dying due to hospitals, hospice, and funeral homes containing it all from popular view. It has been sanitized from the routine of life. But there has been a dark counter side, a deeply disturbing viciousness towards the appreciation of life and the once presumed freedom towards that end along with its liberty and happy pursuits. Life has been devalued, even disdained, yet only for some. What makes the distinction? Often no more than a label. Sometimes no more is required, no proof nor validation of any claim. Just a label, often repeated, that in due time may lose all or part of its meaning or a new one takes its place.
A man was shot in the face exactly because of this at a recent peaceful protest, of course. Someone yelled that this particular person was the dreaded ’N’ word, not the one about racial makeup but rather a title from a historical context that drew the world into mass war. A crazed man then immediately shot and killed him. The very next day the media interviewed the murderer. There was no genuine mention of the man that has died at the hands of a stranger who was then being deemed a hero. No loss, no life.
Such an incident reeks of the Obama weekly meetings where people were deemed ‘enemy combatants’, a highly polarizing and politicized term started by his predecessor, simply because they were foolhardy enough to be in the area where the bombs were dropped, even if it was in their own neighborhood. Aw, shucks. Sucks for them. This further reminds me of a song soldiers in the trenches of WW1 would often sing, “We’re here because we’re here”. Take that for what you will.
The basic morals of being a good person with respect for the lives and well-being of others was taught to people throughout history but now has rapidly diminished from appreciation of action and thought simply by having these teachings disappear from life instruction. Empathy is now an unintended byproduct of feelings that should be discarded like a year-old smart phone. Perhaps the Human Life Operators Manual is due for an update and we may have missed it since the mechanisms are rapidly breaking down. No-one ever said life was easy, well, not all the time anyway.
So what is the point of this? Simply put, while you should not be a detriment to the lives of others, and you should always be respectful towards them at all times possible, you must also be prepared to take the life of another that is actively threatening you or that of your family. You must be on the ready to kill, to mercilessly take the life of another human being without reservation or regret in the immediate moment, to see them bleed, to feel and even taste it, to hear them cry out in pain, calling for their mother, twisting and contorting in writhing agony, to see the look in their eyes as they realize that their end is very near. This is a fact of life, ironic indeed. This is not lawlessness nor a gang initiation nor a way to fill in some down time. This is self-preservation and nature, or any god, holds this in high esteem. At least that used to be so.
The aforementioned is a personal aspect, such as defending against an armed robbery, but when it becomes a social pressure humans are no longer deemed human but merely a nuisance to be disposed of like trite things as cd’s and dvd’s. Perhaps it is the food we consume, the water we drink, the air we breathe, the drugs we take, but nowadays the only means for when this law of nature of keeping oneself alive is enacted, manipulated to be more accurate, when one is in a wicked state of frenzy. This makes them pawns for others in control of a narrative, who in turn see them as ‘useful idiots’, and deservedly so. At best that is all they are, at least in those moments when entrenched in the vibrant ecstasy of destruction and mayhem. Many of them rallied against fascism and now that is here they cheer it on. “Propaganda death ensemble…The sport is war, total war”, says War Ensemble by the band Slayer.
What we have been seeing is that a human life can callously and increasingly be cast aside because of politics and social engineering, done by people genuinely guilty of high-treason, yet the steadfastness for defending a life has been waning. In the current light we know full well that those with fortune and power have absolute disregard for all life other than their own. Think wars are patriotic? Read War Is A Racket. Think it permissible to allow those in command of such powers to flourish? Read The Prince. Allow history to reveal the light on our path so we may better navigate it. The dark aggression that we innately possess to unleash hell-like fury when confronted with real, mortal danger has become incredibly pacified.
At another recent peaceful protest, of course, a man brandishing a sword stepped outside to defend his wife who was being savagely beaten in the street. What was their crime? Just like the bombings mentioned earlier, they were there. What was his very real fault in all of this? He was a coward that only showed this decorative blade and did not allow himself to use it. Simply showing a weapon is valueless, it must be used and it must be used with severe and deadly intent. Deadly intent! His wife nearly died while an unarmed idiot pushed him away. Once it is known that the will to live, fight, and defend has gone then you will be railroaded into submission without a care. That was a life or death situation and he failed miserably. There is no honor in that. That is disgraceful, weak, and pathetic.
I am not at all attempting to make a case that we should go out and kill those we disagree with. I do sincerely hope to see the day when open dialogue becomes a shared human component again. Yet we are increasingly being called to defend against such tactics. The systems in place will not handle them. There are other ways to manage this and hopefully the real bloodshed does not occur. But I sincerely question the audacity of so many that sit back and watch and allow such things to happen. Politics is a dirty business and politicians tend to be very dirty people. Their decisions can have dramatic affects on the world and many lives are often lost as a direct result of them, though they themselves dare not soil their own hands. History has shown us that there is an infinite supply of lackeys to do the bidding for them. Are they not guilty of very real crimes that have left sometimes thousands of lives to be lost in inflicted death at the hands of others? Why should such people be allowed to continue freely or even be rewarded with more fame, fortune, and aggregated power? So when it is questioned as to why should those with such influence who have actively engaged in such tactics not be on the gallows pole I am often taken back by the calls that such a thing is brutal, heavy-handed, and out of line. So do we allow the unrepentant deaths of persons, families, tribes, and societies to continue unabated? You get what you put up with.
The real issue seems to be with old-fashioned human gullibility. People can get really dumb when they gather. That is why so few get the credit for glory while many, many more do the actual bidding. A single person or a small group of people can have an amazing amount of sway over a multitude of otherwise reasonable and responsible creatures. We have dismissed our own vitality and as a direct result we have allowed ourselves to be consumed with the demanding foibles of others and make them our own. And then that is allowed to continue and expand seemingly without limit. Are they that powerful or are we that inept? Carl Jung remarked well on the process of individuation, while an unpleasant experience, is a vital step in our moral and spiritual development and evolution. In a world where discomforting things are now very easily shunned, often by ever-present distractions and mental noise, we are doing a serious disservice to ourselves, those we love, and our future, collective as well as individual by ignoring it. To peer into the seething, primal, limbic soul of savage carnality that we all intrinsically have is indeed a reflection towards our compassion and humility. We are in desperate need of such a reminder that to strive for balance and being aware of what we are truly capable of, all the ugliness and beauty that thrives within each one of us, is a duty that is both frightening and welcome. Do so as if your life depends on it because that is exactly the point.
I just want to be left alone.
The most terrifying force of death comes from the hands of men who wanted to be left alone.
They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and to provide for themselves and those who they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it.
They know, the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over.
The moment the men who wanted to be left alone are forced to fight back, it is a form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be.
Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these men who wanted to be left alone, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror.
TRUE TERROR will arrive at these peoples doors, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy…
But it will fall upon deaf ears of the men who just wanted to be left alone.
